The Wall Street Journal and Esquire are reporting that the National Enquirer bought the rights to a story about an affair that Donald Trump had with a Playboy Playmate in 2006, during his marriage to Melania, but never published it, apparently as a favor to Donald.
The National Enquirer reportedly paid $150,000 for 1998 Playmate of the Year Karen McDougal's story of her affair with Donald Trump that allegedly took place while he was married to his wife, Melania Trump. The Enquirer never ran the story.
Playmate McDougal is locked into the contract and cannot reveal any details to any other publication at the risk of a lawsuit and serious financial penalties.
The contract gave American Media the rights to "any romantic, personal and/or physical relationship McDougal has ever had with any then-married man," though it does not name Trump specifically. If McDougal were to talk about an affair to another media outlet or on social media, she could have to pay $150,000 or more in damages.
Apparently WSJ has obtained a copy of the contract. A friend of the model has confirmed key elements of the story. According to the reports.
